What began twenty years ago with a vision and a dream, further promoted through the continual hard work and perseverance of our members at Cordillera, has culminated into a tight knit group of 125 women dedicated to the game of golf. The fervent desire to make new friends while enjoying a day of golf on Cordillera’s magnificent golf courses naturally fosters the game of golf while also increasing the shared knowledge of the rules and etiquette of the sport.
The CWGA begins their season the first of June with their ever-popular Member/Member tournament. During the week, they have two different play days, one to play within their respective handicaps, the other with mixed pairings and various fun formats. Lunch is thoroughly enjoyed after each play day and prizes are given for each day’s "Play of the Day.” A year-end luncheon signals the end of another wonderful golf season while we wait in great anticipation for the start of another golfing campaign in June. |
The biggest event of the season is a wonderful two-day member/guest that is the pride of the community. Named the "Spirit of Cordillera,” this tournament has always been a sellout with many ladies on a waiting list. Its popularity clearly reflects the true personality of Cordillera Golf. Our weekly matches draw on average 40 women while our Member-Guest event was recently recognized by Women’s Golf Magazine as one of the best tournaments in the country.
The CWGA is a vibrant and integral part of the Cordillera community whose friendships form an impenetrable bond among the members. It is that bond that elevates the spirit of camaraderie and further enhances the true essence of the group.
