Four acclaimed handcrafted golf courses maintained with exquisite
care, provide a mountain and high desert golf experience available only at
Cordillera.
The Summit, Mountain, Valley and Short Courses represent golf at its finest,
providing the most balanced, challenging, and enjoyable mountain golf in the
world. Situated on widely varying terrains in four microclimates, that
range in altitude from 7,150 feet on the valley floor to 9,200 feet at
Cordillera’s Summit, these courses reflect the best thinking of the greatest
course designers at work today and have received, time and again, golf’s
greatest accolades.
The Summit Course, situated at 9,200 feet along the spectacular upper reaches
of Cordillera, represents Jack Nicklaus at his minimalist best. Nicklaus took
extraordinary measures to see that the course fit seamlessly into the existing
terrain. Hale Irwin’s 7,444-yard Mountain Course provides players with
tree-lined fairways and sharp changes in elevation. Laid out on the warm valley
floor with its sage, arroyos and mountain streams, Tom Fazio’s Valley Course
stretches over 400 acres of beautifully groomed high-mountain desert. The
Valley Course is open from April to October and offers Members one of the
longest playing seasons in the Vail Valley. As magnificent as it is unusual,
the Dave Pelz Short Course is sophisticated enough for serious players wishing
to develop a stronger short game, while providing a relaxed golf experience for
every ability level.
